NEW feature!

WANNA VISIT...

Paris is known around the world as one of the most romantic cities. The Paris Voice webzine provides its ten most romantic spots around the city, and here are the top five from that list. When finding your favorite spot in Paris, remember the time of day and year when you can fully enjoy it. Islands and locations along the Seine take the top three places in this list, with the western tip of L’Allee des Cygnes, the Alley of Swans, atop the list. The best time to visit this idyllic spot is early morning, and it can be reached from the bridge of Bir Hakeim.
Two other western island locations along the river that make for romantic destinations are the Ile-de-la-Cite and the Ile-St.-Louis. By day the western tip of the Ile-de-la-Cite, provides gorgeous views of the Institut de France, the Louvre and the Pont des Arts, which some call the city’s most romantic bridge. By night the western end of the Ile-St.-Louis has the reflections of the city all around it, with Notre Dame prominent.
A private place, La Cour de Rohan, is next and can be entered through the Rue Jardinet, though it may not always be open to visitors. Three courtyards open lead you to the back of Le Procope, the city’s first cafĂ© and now a restaurant where many famous people have met and pondered the world. Finally, the Fontaine de Medicis in the Luxembourg Gardens reminds visitors that the palace was once the home of Marie de Medicis, the widow of Henry IV. It is also where Simon de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre met in more modern times.
